What is PEEK Natural Material

 

Victrex 450FE20 is a peek natural material with polyetheretherketone (PEEK) as the base and filled with 20% polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Its unique formula endows the material with low wear, high fluidity and excellent chemical resistance, combining strength and processability, and is widely used in food contact parts, sliding components and high-temperature friction systems. This product is in the form of natural beige granules and is suitable for injection molding and extrusion molding.

01 | Key Material Features

 

Excellent Chemical Resistance

  ・The PEEK matrix endows the material with outstanding resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents and a variety of industrial chemicals, and it can still maintain structural stability and mechanical properties in long-term chemical medium environments.

High Flowability

  ・The optimized melt viscosity (approximately 350 Pa·s) enables Victrex 450FE20 to have excellent filling performance in complex mold structures, reducing processing stress and molding defects.

Low Wear Rate

  ・The formula containing 20% PTFE significantly reduces the coefficient of friction, enabling the material to exhibit an extremely low wear rate and excellent self-lubricating properties in high-load sliding scenarios.

Semi-Crystalline Morphology

  ・Its semi-crystalline characteristics bring excellent dimensional stability and creep resistance, and it can maintain deformation control even under high-temperature or alternating load conditions.

Food-Contact Grade safety

03 | Processing Compatibility

 

Victrex 450FE20 is suitable for injection molding and extrusion molding processes. Recommended processing parameters

  ・Melting temperature: 370-400 ℃

  ・Mold temperature: 170-200 ℃

  ・Drying conditions: 150 ℃ for 3 hours

The highly fluid melt characteristics enable it to form more uniformly in thin-walled parts or complex runner molds, reducing stress concentration and bubble defects.
