POE Resin Overview - Dow POE 7467
As plastic modification pays more and more attention to low specific gravity, low temperature toughness and environmental adaptability, Dow Chemical POE 7467 is gradually becoming a key toughening solution in composite material design. As a polyolefin elastomer (POE resin) based on a four-carbon butene copolymer structure, POE 7467 resin is widely used in many industries due to its excellent softness, stability and processing compatibility. It is especially suitable for the development of modified plastics, injection molded products and food contact products.
01 | POE Resin gene analysis: structural logic of softness
The molecular structure of POE 7467 resin introduces butene as a copolymer monomer, which enables the material molecular chain to obtain greater freedom of movement while maintaining the compatibility of the polyolefin system. This structure brings the following performance highlights:
・High elongation: The elongation at break is as high as 600%, with excellent ductility and deformation absorption capacity;

02 | Application potential focus: From plastic modification to functional composite
▶ General plastic toughening agent
POE 7467 is widely used in the toughness modification of common polymers such as PP, PE, and PA. It can significantly improve the impact performance and fracture ductility at low addition, and is particularly suitable for thin-walled products and products used in low-temperature environments.
▶ Foaming and buffer layer materials
The melting point of the material is only 34°C and the crystallization temperature is only 13°C, which gives it a good processing window during the foaming process. With the appropriate foaming agent, POE resin can be used to prepare lightweight buffer pads, shoe midsoles, sports equipment protective layers, etc.
▶ Food contact and soft packaging
Due to the food contact grade certification, the material is clean and has low precipitation, POE 7467 is suitable for soft packaging layers, food gaskets, children's products and other fields that require both safety and flexibility.

04 | Process adaptation suggestions: Flexible processing tool with low melting temperature and high flow
・The melt index is 1.2 g/10min (190°C), with good fluidity, and can be adapted to various processing methods such as injection molding, extrusion, and blending;
・The Mooney viscosity is moderate (19MU), and the elastic segment viscosity can be adjusted in the rubber system to improve the uniformity of the system;
・It has excellent compatibility with talcum powder, and the official formula contains talcum powder, which can provide rigid support or demolding benefits in specific scenarios.
