What is PEEK Plastic

 

The core design of RTP PEEK 2287 LF is the Low Flow System. This type of peek plastic is usually used in engineering manufacturing for structural components with high precision and low deformation rate.
A low-flow system means that the melt flows more slowly in the mold cavity, crystallizes more fully, and the molecular orientation is more uniform, thereby achieving higher dimensional stability and lower internal stress accumulation in complex structural components.

The four major engineering values brought by low-flow design:

  ・Enhanced structural density: The low melt shear rate results in fewer delamination and bubble defects in the products.

  ・Homogenization of mechanical properties: Carbon fibers are distributed more evenly, avoiding local stress concentration.

RTP PEEK 2287 LF is produced by injection molding process and is particularly suitable for medium and thick-walled, high-precision structural components.
As a low-flow peek plastic, it has higher control requirements for mold temperature and injection speed, but the rewards it brings are high part density, small warpage and dense structure.

Recommended Process Window:

  ・Barrel temperature: 370-400℃

  ・Mold temperature: 160-200℃

  ・Drying conditions: 150℃ for 3 hours

  ・Wall thickness recommendation: 2mm or more to ensure stable flow filling and crystallization
