Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as acetal or polyacetal, is a high-density, high-crystallinity thermoplastic engineering plastic synthesized from formaldehyde and other raw materials. POM comes in two main types: homopolymer (POM-H) and copolymer (POM-K), both known for their excellent physical, mechanical, and chemical properties, especially their outstanding friction resistance.
POM GC210 is a special type of polyoxymethylene material containing 10% glass fiber reinforcement. Typically available in pellet form, it is mainly used for injection molding. POM GC210 exhibits superior mechanical and chemical properties and can be used long-term in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 100°C. Its wear resistance and self-lubricating properties are far superior to most engineering plastics, and it has good oil and peroxide resistance. The addition of UV agents significantly enhances its ultraviolet resistance.
Due to its high rigidity and strength, POM GC210 is widely used in various industrial fields. It is commonly used to manufacture bearings, gears, pump and valve components, as well as electronic and electrical parts. These applications demand materials with excellent mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and chemical corrosion resistance, all of which POM GC210 meets. Additionally, POM GC210 has a smooth, glossy surface and is available in light yellow or white, offering both aesthetic and practical advantages.
For example, in the manufacture of bearings and gears, POM GC210's low friction coefficient and high wear resistance are indispensable. These mechanical components need to withstand significant friction and wear during operation, and POM GC210 effectively reduces friction loss, extending the service life. Similarly, its application in pump and valve components benefits from its excellent mechanical strength and chemical corrosion resistance. In electronic and electrical components, POM GC210's good insulation properties and dimensional stability make it widely used in precision electronic devices.
