What Is TPEE Material

In modern engineering plastics, it is often difficult to achieve both "flexibility" and "durability". The TPEE LX770A launched by SK Comprehensive Chemical, with its outstanding structural performance and processing adaptability, has become a balanced representative among elastomer materials. As a thermoplastic polyester elastomer (tpee material), LX770A not only meets the dual requirements of medium hardness and excellent tensile strength, but is also more widely applicable to structural applications such as sealing, gaskets, and modification.

TPEE LX770A

01 | Material highlights: Seek differentiated value from performance structure

TPEE LX770A adopts a molecular configuration of polyester soft segments and hard segments block copolymerization in its material structure, which results in a synergistic performance of high elongation and strong tear resistance. It has the following core advantages:

・Medium hardness without losing flexibility: With A Shore hardness of around 71, it is suitable for making components that are friendly to the touch but do not lack support.

・Outstanding tensile performance: It remains strong and tough without breaking under extreme force conditions, which is conducive to the fatigue resistance design of structural components.

・Good low-temperature resistance and flexibility: The material can still maintain a soft shape at low temperatures and is not prone to cracking, making it suitable for applications in cold environments.

These features enable the LX770A tpee material to perform highly in line with the diverse manufacturing demands in terms of both functionality and safety.

02 | Process adaptability: Suitable for various molding methods

The LX770A tpee material supports injection molding and extrusion molding, has a wide molding window, high processing efficiency, and a moderate melt index (suitable for flow filling of thin-walled structural parts), which means it can easily adapt to existing production lines without the need for complex equipment adjustments.

In addition, its lower viscosity endows it with superior cavity filling performance, making it particularly stable in high-speed injection equipment. It is especially suitable for the coating molding of thin-walled parts such as sealing rings, special-shaped strips and composite materials.

03 | Application scenarios: From functional sealing to modified substrates

The practical application of TPEE LX770A has expanded to multiple terminal industries, mainly including:

・Industrial sealing and shock-absorbing components: such as sealing rings and buffer gaskets for mechanical equipment, they possess both elasticity and deformation recovery capabilities.

・Flexible base materials for modified composite materials: used for multi-component co-injection molding or overmolding with engineering plastics to enhance the toughness of composite structural components.

・In the automotive and electronics fields: Components with high heat resistance and dynamic fatigue resistance requirements, such as cable sheaths, flexible gears, elastic brackets, etc.

05 | Innovative perspectives and industry competitive advantages

Compared with traditional TPE or TPU, TPEE LX770A has inherent advantages in thermal stability and chemical resistance, especially showing more stability in oily and alcohol environments. In comparison with TPV materials, TPEE material has better dynamic response and tensile retention rate, and is more durable in high-frequency vibration or repeated mechanical movement scenarios.

This comprehensive performance advantage makes it a strong competitor to some alternatives to TPU or TPV.

06 | Customer real feedback: The preferred choice that balances economy and structural reliability

Some customers have reported that the LX770A features extremely high dimensional stability in injection molding production, a short molding cycle and a low scrap rate. When dealing with large orders for seals with high dimensional requirements, it can significantly reduce production costs and the rate of manual rework.

In addition, some customers attempted to use LX770A tpee material as a shell buffer pad in electrical products to replace TPU. The results showed that the creep resistance and pressure resistance performance were significantly better than those of the original material, and the product durability was extended by at least 20%.

08 | Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Can TPEE LX770A be used for food contact?
A: This model is not specifically marked as food grade. It is recommended for non-contact applications in industry, automotive or electronics. If there is a need for food contact, please choose the TPEE grade that complies with FDA certification.

Q2: What are the main differences between TPEE and TPU?
A: Compared with TPU, TPEE is stronger in oil resistance, heat resistance and dynamic fatigue resistance, but TPU has a slight advantage in transparency and hand feel. The appropriate elastomer can be selected according to specific uses.

Q3: Can it be co-injection molded with engineering plastics such as PA and PC?
A: TPEE has certain adhesion to some polar engineering plastics and its co-injection molding performance can be enhanced through plasma/flame pretreatment or the addition of coupling agents.
