SABIC LLDPE 118N Overview | Linear Low Density Polyethylene with TDS
Product Struction
What is Linear Low Density Polyethylene 118N
In today's manufacturing field where film applications and electrical performance requirements are equally important, LLDPE 118N (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) demonstrates its wide adaptability and material potential. This material, provided by Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), has excellent tensile strength, outstanding optical properties and rare insulation properties. It is a copolymer-grade LLDPE raw material with balanced performance and adaptable to multiple working conditions.
01 | Material highlights: taking into account both mechanical strength and flexibility
SABIC LLDPE 118N has typical film-grade mechanical performance parameters:
・Tensile strength can reach up to 37 MPa, and tensile modulus is about 160–180 MPa, ensuring that the material integrity can be maintained under tensile and packaging stress;
・Flexural modulus reaches 255 MPa, which provides a certain rigidity while also having good flexibility, suitable for multi-layer composite films or structural films;
・Elongation at break is as high as 850%, and tear resistance and impact toughness are extremely strong.
This "rigidity and flexibility" feature allows it to maintain strength while greatly reducing processing breakage rate and transportation risks.
02 | Optical performance: suitable for transparent packaging and glossy products
In film packaging with high requirements for visual and display effects, SABIC LLDPE 118N has excellent optical indicators:
・The haze is only 13% (@50μm), with good light transmittance;
・The gloss reaches 50 (ASTM D2457), with high surface fineness, suitable for e-commerce, daily chemicals, food and other industries with strict requirements on appearance.
03 | Electrical performance: stand out among polyethylene
Compared with most ordinary Linear Low Density Polyethylene, 118N has excellent insulation performance:
・The dielectric constant is 2.17, which ensures stability under the action of electric field;
・The volume resistivity is as high as 7×10¹⁵ Ω·cm, combined with a low dissipation factor (0.0005), which meets the high standard requirements for anti-leakage and electromagnetic interference;
・The insulation strength is 1.3 KV/mm, with strong electric field resistance.
These properties make Linear Low Density Polyethylene SABIC LLDPE 118N an alternative material for electronic and home appliance packaging films and some cable lining films.
