Product Struction
What is Polysulfone Polymer
With the ever-increasing application of engineering plastics, polysulfone polymers are widely used in the electronics, automotive, and industrial sectors for their heat and chemical resistance and stable mechanical properties. SABIC's PSU GFL36L (GFL-4036 LE), a composite material reinforced with glass fiber and PTFE, not only meets the dual requirements of high strength and low friction, but also provides manufacturers with a reliable material solution for high-temperature and complex working conditions.
01 | Material Highlights and Characteristics
PSU GFL36L(GFL-4036LE) is a composite material based on polysulfone polymer and modified synergistic by 30% glass fiber and 15% PTFE. Its design intention is to balance structural strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability, and it has unique advantages among engineering plastics:
・Enhancing toughness and rigidity: Glass fiber filling endows the material with a higher flexural modulus and creep resistance, enabling it to remain stable in harsh mechanical environments.
・Wear resistance and low friction: The introduction of PTFE significantly reduces the coefficient of friction, making it suitable for components in long-term friction contact.
・Heat resistance and low water absorption: PSU itself has a relatively high heat distortion temperature and moisture resistance, enabling the products to maintain their performance in high-temperature and humid environments.
・Dimensional stability: Low shrinkage rate and low coefficient of expansion ensure the forming accuracy of complex-structured parts.
