Introduction to PBT Ultradur B4520
Ultradur B4520 (PBT B 4520) is a medium-viscosity, injection-molding grade of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) from BASF that combines laser-weldability with good processability, making it particularly suitable for efficient manufacturing scenarios requiring rapid cool molding. The material formulation is optimised to provide consistent performance in complex structural and cosmetic applications.
01 | Highlights of Ultradur B4520 properties
Medium viscosity design: moderate flow during processing, combining mould filling efficiency and dimensional control
Good laser weldability: robust welding, suitable for automated assembly and multi-component fusion
Rapid cooling performance: helps to shorten the moulding cycle time and improve the efficiency of mass production
Good surface effect: suitable for components with a requirement for aesthetics such as housings, panels, etc.
UL94 HB flame retardant rating: meets the requirements of general electrical and electronic non-structural components. Flame retardant: meets the basic needs of non-structural electrical and electronic components.
02 | Innovation in the application fields of PBT B 4520
Ultradur B4520 is not only used in traditional household appliances, but also shows its stability in the following areas:
Office equipment: transmission components, coil frames in printers and photocopiers
Structural components for electrical appliances: brackets and fixing parts for the interior of household appliances
Sewing machine components: requirements for thermal stability and dimensional accuracy of the material
Electronic enclosures: appearance-oriented components that also need to be welded Structural design
