Introduction to PBT LG GP-2000
The PBT GP-2000 launched by LG Engineering Plastics is a general-purpose polybutylene terephthalate (material PBT) material, specially designed for injection molding, and suitable for various industrial and consumer electronics fields with high requirements for dimensional stability and electrical performance. Its low shrinkage rate, high insulation and good heat distortion temperature make it perform well in a variety of structural and electrical components.
01 | Key Characteristics of PBT GP-2000
Excellent dimensional stability: The shrinkage rates in the longitudinal and transverse directions are 1.2% and 2.1% respectively, making the structure more stable after molding.
Excellent insulation performance: Volume resistance as high as 1E16 Ω·cm, insulation strength up to 23 kV/mm, suitable for high-voltage environments.
Balanced heat resistance performance:
The heat distortion temperature (0.45MPa) reaches 154°C
RTI's electronic, electrical and structural dimensions all reach 140°C (UL 746B)
Impact and Mechanical Balance
The notched impact of the cantilever beam was 3.06 kJ/m²
The tensile strength is 54 MPa, the flexural strength is 83 MPa, and the modulus reaches 2250 MPa

04 | Processing Guidelines and Precautions for LG GP-2000
It is suitable for high-speed injection molding cycles. It is recommended to operate at a stable mold temperature to maintain dimensional consistency.
Avoid high shear processing. A medium shear speed is more conducive to maintaining impact performance.
Drying treatment suggestion: Thorough drying treatment must be carried out before use to prevent moisture absorption from causing processing defects.
