Product Struction
Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as acetal or Delrin, is a high-density, highly crystalline thermoplastic engineering plastic polymerized primarily from formaldehyde. POM materials are mainly divided into POM homopolymers (POM-H) and POM copolymers (POM-K). They exhibit excellent performance in engineering applications due to their superior physical, mechanical, and chemical properties, especially their outstanding friction resistance.
POM is a high-density crystalline polymer without side chains, characterized by a smooth, glossy, hard, and dense surface, typically in light yellow or white color. It can be used continuously within the temperature range of -40 to 100°C, demonstrating excellent wear resistance and self-lubrication. Compared to most engineering plastics, POM has superior oil and peroxide resistance. By adding UV stabilizers, its UV resistance is also significantly enhanced.
Among the various POM materials, POM FW-700A stands out for its excellent performance parameters. This material has a tensile strength of 54 MPa, a static friction coefficient of 0.09, a dynamic friction coefficient of 0.12, and an elongation of 60%. Its Taber wear is 11 mg/1000 cycles, flexural modulus is 2250 MPa, and flexural strength is 75 MPa. The notched Izod impact strength at 23°C is 66.32 kJ/m², and the heat deflection temperature is 160°C at 0.45 MPa and 110°C at 1.8 MPa. It has a specific gravity of 1.39 g/cm³, a shrinkage rate of 2% in the flow direction and 2.2% in the perpendicular direction, and a Rockwell hardness of 75.
These properties make POM FW-700A widely used in the automotive industry, electronics and electrical appliances, and consumer goods manufacturing. In the automotive industry, it is commonly used to manufacture fuel system components, electronic parts, and door lock systems. In the electronics and electrical field, it is suitable for various precision parts and connectors of electrical appliances. In the consumer goods sector, POM FW-700A is used to produce zippers, fasteners, and watch parts, among other everyday items.
