What is LDPE 2420D Plastics

 

LUPOLEN LDPE 2420D is a general-purpose low-density polyethylene ldpe plastic material launched by LyondellBasell. It has excellent mechanical properties and bubble stability and is widely used in blow molding extrusion applications such as flexible packaging, agricultural film, and stretch hood packaging. Its high melt strength and additive-free characteristics provide users with pure and high-performance ldpe plastics solutions.

01 | Three core features: stable foam, high strength, and universal adaptability

 

High melt strength and good bubble stability

LDPE 2420D plastic has a melt index of 0.25 g/10min, high melt strength, is not easy to collapse bubbles in film blowing, and has uniform film formation. It is particularly suitable for high barrel-diameter ratio, wide-width agricultural film or multi-layer co-extrusion middle layer.

Excellent mechanical strength and ductility

With a longitudinal tensile strength of 27 MPa, a vertical elongation at break of 500%, and a tensile modulus of 260 MPa, it has good support and tear resistance after film formation, making it very suitable for heavy packaging bags and stretch cover films.

Additive-free pure formula

This grade does not contain anti-blocking agents, lubricants or antistatic additives, and is suitable for customers with high purity requirements, such as food-grade packaging or companies that need to customize modified masterbatch ratios.

03 | Processing suggestions and precautions

 

Film blowing temperature control: It is recommended that the barrel temperature be 170–200°C, and the die temperature be slightly higher to stabilize the inflation ratio;

Thickness recommendation: Suitable for various film products of 40–100μm;

Extrusion application: It can be used as a co-extrusion film substrate layer, and it is recommended to be matched with EVA or mPE to improve flexibility;

Processing equipment matching: It is suitable for all mainstream extrusion and film blowing equipment, with stable fluidity, easy thickness control and die uniformity.
