What is PET HY1000 Plastic Pellet ?

 

In today's packaging industry, which is focused on performance, sustainability and process efficiency, PET HY1000 plastic pellets offer outstanding mechanical properties, gas barrier and lightweight characteristics that make them an ideal packaging material for food, pharmaceuticals, industrial films and more. As Eastman's polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic pellets for functional packaging, HY1000 combines strength, flexibility and optical stability for a wide range of high value-added packaging solutions.

1. Excellent mechanical properties combined with flexibility

With an elongation at break of up to 380% in the flow direction and a vertical tensile strength of 117 MPa, PET HY1000 plastic pelletsexhibits good impact resistance and toughness. The impact test is up to 355g (ASTM D1709), which guarantees the safety during transport and stacking.

2. Outstanding gas barrier performance

PET HY1000 has an oxygen permeability of only 10.4 cc/m²-day and a carbon dioxide permeability of 42.7 cc-mm/m²-24hr-atm at 30°C, which significantly prolongs the shelf life of food, beverages, and pharmaceuticals, and makes it a reliable choice for high-barrier packaging.

3. Strong processing stability, low shrinkage performance

Flow direction shrinkage is only 1%, in thermoforming, calendering, film laminating and other processing processes show good dimensional control ability, improve product yield, reduce processing scrap rate.

4. Lightweight design, helping to reduce costs and environmental protection

Specific weight is only 0.89 g/cm³, lighter than conventional PET plastic pellets, which helps to reduce the amount of materials used per unit of product, and is also more in line with the environmental protection trend in the packaging industry.

5. Stable optical properties, uniform appearance

HY1000 has a yellowness index of 1.71 and a glossiness of 8 (ASTM D2457), which is suitable for packaging of consumer products with high demands on appearance, such as transparent films and protective layers for electronic outer packaging.
