02 | Material highlights: not only heat resistance, but also "efficient processing"
Compared with traditional nylon 6 products, a major advantage of PA6 B3K is its low viscosity, which means faster injection molding cycles and more sophisticated mold filling capabilities, especially suitable for the production of complex geometries or thin-walled parts. At the same time, it adds heat stabilizers, lubricants and release agents, which greatly reduce the difficulty of processing while improving the thermal aging life, surface quality and demolding efficiency of the finished product.
In addition, in terms of electrical insulation, the material exhibits excellent volume resistivity (up to 10¹⁵ Ω·cm) and stable dielectric properties, ensuring that it can still operate stably under high voltage or frequent thermal shock environments.
03 | Future-oriented application scenarios: from fan components to technical plastic parts
The main applications of nylon pa6 B3K cover the following categories:
Household appliance housings and electric fan structural parts: With high fluidity and molding accuracy, they can meet the dual requirements of industrial design for appearance and structural strength;
Power tool housings: With the support of V-2 flame retardant performance and high strength, they meet the requirements for safety level and impact performance;
Various machine internal parts and technical structural parts: such as small gears, terminal blocks, guide rails, etc., PA6 B3K has good performance in mechanical strength and dimensional stability, suitable for mass production of precision structures.
04 | Technical Insight: Reliable thermal performance + electrical safety guarantee
It is worth noting that nylon pa6 B3K performs outstandingly in terms of heat distortion temperature (HDT), reaching up to 180°C at 0.45MPa, indicating its suitability for applications in high-temperature working environments. In the RTI assessment of UL 746B, the long-term electrical performance of this material was stable at 130°C, further ensuring its application reliability in electrical components such as transformers, junction boxes, and terminals.
In addition, the water absorption rate is controlled between 9 and 10%. The relatively low water absorption helps maintain long-term dimensional stability and mechanical properties, and is suitable for the design of structural parts with high tolerance requirements.
05 | Process-friendly nylon material: suitable for rapid injection molding and complex structures
BASF's research and development of this nylon pa6 not only stays at the performance level, but also takes into account the convenience and efficiency of processing. The high melt index of 160 cm³/10min makes B3K particularly suitable for automated injection molding processes. Even in thin-walled, porous or long-process structural parts, it can ensure complete material filling and reduce the risk of flash or material shortage.
With the assistance of the additive system, the mold maintenance cycle is effectively extended, and the surface demolding of the parts is smoother, which is a great benefit for high-beat production lines.
06 | Differentiation from other PA6 materials
Compared with conventional nylon pa6 materials (such as general injection molding grades, reinforced grades, etc.), the core advantage of PA6 B3K lies in its "three-characteristic combination of low viscosity + thermal stability + electrical safety". This makes it particularly suitable for:
✔ Injection molding of thin-walled parts with extremely high fluidity requirements;
✔ Electrical structural parts with strict requirements on dimensional accuracy;
✔ Long-term use scenarios where mechanical properties need to be maintained in high-temperature environments.
