What is Thermoplastic Polyurethane Resin?
TPU 588 E is a thermoplastic polyurethane resin suitable for injection moulding and extrusion moulding processes. TPU 588 E is ISO 10993 medical grade certified and UL 94 V-0 flame retardant, and its unique molecular structure is designed to outperform ordinary TPUs in dynamic applications, such as automotive seals and high-pressure hoses, where both mechanical loads and environmental resistance are required.
Thermoplastic Polyurethane Resin Properties
1、Excellent hydrolysis resistance
Thermoplastic polyurethane resins maintain structural integrity in high humidity and long-term water contact environments. It passes ISO 62 standards with a water absorption rate of <1.5% after 30 days of immersion, making it suitable for wet and outdoor applications.
2、Medical grade anti-microbial capability
Inhibiting the growth of bacteria and mould, TPU 588 E has passed the ISO 22196 antimicrobial test, making it suitable for use in hygienically sensitive areas such as medical devices and food-grade tubing.
3、High mechanical strength and flexibility balance
Tensile strength up to 40 MPa, elongation at break > 500%, both impact resistance and fatigue resistance, suitable for dynamic loading scenarios (e.g. industrial hoses).
4, -40 ℃ low temperature resistance to brittle crack performance
Maintains elasticity in extremely cold environments, superior to ordinary PVC and rubber materials, suitable for outdoor applications in cold regions.
5、Chemical resistance
TPU 588 E resin has strong resistance to grease, solvents (such as diesel fuel, weak acids and alkalis), extending the service life of industrial parts.
6, processing and wide adaptability
Compatible with injection molding, extrusion and other processes, stable melt flow index (MFI), high molding efficiency, low rejection rate.
Thermoplastic Polyurethane Resin Applications
1、Automobile industry
TPU 588 E is suitable for roof lining, interior trim, providing durability and comfort while enhancing impact resistance.
2、hose and tube
TPU 588 E resin is used in fluid transfer systems, industrial hoses, and pipe linings to provide excellent chemical and abrasion resistance.
3、Cable Sheathing
Thermoplastic polyurethane resins provide long-term hydrolysis and microbiological protection for submarine cables, robotic cable jacketing, and extended product life.
