Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as acetal or Delrin, is a high-density, high-crystallinity thermoplastic engineering plastic synthesized from formaldehyde and other raw materials. POM materials are classified into homopolymer (POM-H) and copolymer (POM-K), both of which exhibit excellent physical, mechanical, and chemical properties, particularly outstanding friction resistance.

POM is a high-density crystalline polymer without side chains, featuring a smooth, glossy surface, and a hard, dense texture, typically appearing in light yellow or white. This material can be used over a long-term temperature range of -40°C to 100°C, demonstrating exceptional wear resistance and self-lubricating properties. Additionally, POM offers good oil and peroxide resistance, and its UV resistance can be significantly enhanced with the addition of UV stabilizers.

Among the various POM materials, POM FW715CS is a model with special properties. It is granular, suitable for injection molding, and has HB-grade flame retardancy. POM FW715CS is widely used in printer parts, gears, and worm wheels due to its low wear characteristics. This material has a tensile strength of 43.23 MPa, an elongation at break of 123%, a flexural modulus of 1986.56 MPa, a flexural strength of 64.70 MPa, and a notched Charpy impact strength of 5.1 kJ/m² (at 23°C). Its heat deflection temperature in an unannealed state is 92°C, with a specific gravity of 1.49 g/cm³, a melt flow index of 10 g/10min (at 190°C, 2.16kg), a shrinkage rate of 1.7~2.1%, a Rockwell hardness of 69 (M scale), and a UL94 HB flame rating.

Due to its high wear resistance and low wear characteristics, POM FW715CS is widely used in components requiring wear resistance and high precision, such as printer parts and gears. Its excellent mechanical and thermal properties provide broad application prospects in the field of engineering plastics.
