Polyoxymethylene, known scientifically as polyformaldehyde (POM), is also referred to as acetal or delrin. It is produced from formaldehyde and other materials through a polymerization reaction. Based on its structure, POM is classified into homopolymers (POM-H) and copolymers (POM-K). Both types are high-density, high-crystallinity thermoplastic engineering plastics with excellent physical, mechanical, and chemical properties, particularly in terms of wear resistance.

Polyoxymethylene, known scientifically as polyformaldehyde (POM), is also referred to as acetal or delrin. It is produced from formaldehyde and other materials through a polymerization reaction. Based on its structure, POM is classified into homopolymers (POM-H) and copolymers (POM-K). Both types are high-density, high-crystallinity thermoplastic engineering plastics with excellent physical, mechanical, and chemical properties, particularly in terms of wear resistance.

POM is a high-density crystalline polymer without side chains, featuring excellent comprehensive properties. It has a smooth, glossy surface, is hard and dense, and appears light yellow or white. It can be used for extended periods within a temperature range of -40°C to 100°C. POM not only possesses superior wear resistance and self-lubricating properties but also has good oil resistance and peroxide resistance. By adding UV agents, its ultraviolet resistance is significantly enhanced.

LG's POM FW700S is a wear-resistant grade polyoxymethylene material in granular form, making it easy to process, primarily through injection molding. This material has low wear characteristics, making it ideal for applications requiring high wear resistance, such as printer components, gears, and worm gears. POM FW700S has a flammability rating of HB, further expanding its application range.

From a physical and mechanical performance perspective, POM FW700S performs excellently. Its surface resistivity is 1E14 Ω, and its volume resistivity at 23°C is 1E16 Ω·cm. It has a tensile strength of 53.92 MPa and an elongation at break of 70%. The flexural modulus is 2352.94 MPa, with a flexural strength of 78.43 MPa. The notched impact strength with a cantilever beam at 23°C is 9 kJ/m², and its heat distortion temperature in the non-annealed state is 155°C at 0.45MPa and 105°C at 1.8MPa. Its specific gravity is 1.4 g/cm³, with a melt index of 10 g/10min at 190°C, a shrinkage rate in the flow direction of 22.2%, a Rockwell hardness of 80 (R scale), and a UL94 HB flammability rating at 0.95-2.9mm thickness across all colors.
