PP Plastic raw material S2040

Polypropylene, or PP for short, is made by linking together lots of propylene molecules. It's a kind of plastic that's really good at standing up to most chemicals, acids, and bases. It doesn't soak up much water either. We use it for all sorts of stuff like packaging, clothes, lab gear, and even parts of cars.

Polypropylene (PP), also referred to as polypropene, is a long-chain polymer synthesized through the polymerization of propylene monomers. It is a thermoplastic polymer characterized by its commendable resistance to a majority of solvents, acids, and alkalis, and its low water absorption. This material is extensively utilized in the fabrication of a diverse range of products including packaging materials, textiles, laboratory equipment, and automobile components. Polypropylene bears resemblance to polyethylene in many aspects, particularly in terms of solution behavior and electrical properties. The incorporation of methyl groups enhances its mechanical properties and thermal resistance, albeit at the expense of reduced chemical resistance. The performance attributes of polypropylene are influenced by factors such as molecular weight and its distribution, crystallinity, the type and proportion of comonomers (if used), and tacticity. For instance, in isotactic polypropylene, methyl groups are oriented on one side of the carbon backbone. This alignment results in increased crystallinity, leading to a material that is harder and more resistant to creep deformation than both atactic polypropylene and polyethylene.
