LLDPE Pellets Overview - SABIC 6118LE
LLDPE 6118LE is a six-carbon copolymer linear low-density polyethylene (lldpe pellets) developed by Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), specifically designed for high-performance film applications. It combines excellent tensile strength, tear strength, impact resistance and anti-dart performance, and demonstrates extremely strong adaptability in scenarios with extremely high durability requirements such as heavy packaging, frozen food and agricultural films.
01 | Material highlights: Comprehensive mechanical protection and optical balance
LLDPE 6118LE adopts Hexene copolymer monomers. Compared with common butene-based LLDPE materials, its chain segment structure is more regular, improving the mechanical stability and toughness of the material. Its notable characteristics include:
High tensile strength and tear strength: The tear strength in the flow direction is 100 KN/m, and in the vertical direction it can reach up to 400 KN/m, effectively preventing the membrane material from being torn or damaged during handling or heat sealing.
Strong resistance to dart impact: It has excellent resistance to vertical puncture and falling object impact, enhancing the protective performance of the packaging film during dynamic transportation.
Excellent heat sealing and heat adhesion: Suitable for a variety of packaging heat sealing applications, while having good non-stick properties.
Appropriate optical performance: The haze is only 13%, which can meet the requirements of both visual display and content masking.
02 | Application scenarios: Comprehensive adaptation from food packaging to agricultural films
Packaging of frozen food
LLDPE 6118LE is a typical food contact grade film material. It still maintains good toughness and sealing integrity below -18°C and is highly suitable for the outer packaging of products such as frozen vegetables, meats, and ready-to-eat meals.
Heavy-duty packaging bags
High tear resistance, high impact resistance and high rigidity make it an ideal raw material for industrial heavy-duty packaging bags. It is suitable for various heavy-load scenarios such as chemical powder materials, feed, and fertilizers.
Agricultural film and mulching film
Its puncture resistance and anti-drop performance make it particularly suitable for use as agricultural film and greenhouse ground film, with strong durability and outstanding resistance to wind erosion.
Composite stretch film and laminated film structure
The low melt index (0.9g /10min) ensures its suitability for multi-layer co-extrusion processing, making it suitable as the strength layer or intermediate layer of composite films, thereby enhancing the overall structural strength and durability of the membrane material.

04 | Processing adaptability: It can be blown and cast, and the additive system is optimized
LLDPE 6118LE can be widely used in:
・Blown Film
・Cast Film
・Lamination film
・Stretch Film
It contains a combination of release agents and anti-slip agents, significantly reducing the adhesion of the membrane sheets during processing, and improving the separation of the upper and lower membranes as well as the smoothness of membrane rolling. The non-stickiness test value is 10g, which is suitable for automated high-speed production lines.
05 | Detailed Explanation of Anti-Dart Performance: The "Invisible Shield" for Packaging Safety
In transportation, handling or impact environments upon landing, conventional films are prone to perforation due to vertical impact. LLDPE 6118LE shows stable anti-dart impact performance, which can effectively absorb impact energy and prevent the contents of the package from leaking due to film rupture. It is particularly important for cold chain transportation and agricultural film applications.
06 | Environmental protection and regulatory compliance: Green and recyclable, meeting food contact standards
LLDPE 6118LE complies with food contact regulations, is safe and non-toxic, and has good recyclability at the same time. Its relatively high structural strength can also reduce the demand for packaging thickness, helping to achieve the goal of material reduction and adapting to the trend of green environmental protection.
