Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as acetal or Delrin, is a high-density, high-crystallinity thermoplastic engineering plastic synthesized through the polymerization of formaldehyde and other raw materials. Depending on the polymerization method, POM is classified into homopolymer (POM-H) and copolymer (POM-K), both known for their excellent physical, mechanical, and chemical properties, particularly in terms of wear resistance.

Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as acetal or Delrin, is a high-density, high-crystallinity thermoplastic engineering plastic synthesized through the polymerization of formaldehyde and other raw materials. Depending on the polymerization method, POM is classified into homopolymer (POM-H) and copolymer (POM-K), both known for their excellent physical, mechanical, and chemical properties, particularly in terms of wear resistance.

POM has a high-density crystalline structure without side chains, giving it a smooth, glossy surface that is hard and dense, typically pale yellow or white. It can be used for extended periods in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 100°C. Its wear resistance and self-lubricating properties surpass most engineering plastics, and it also has good oil and peroxide resistance. By adding UV agents, its resistance to ultraviolet light can be significantly enhanced.

POM FW700N is a specialized grade of this material, mainly processed through injection molding and categorized as a wear-resistant grade with low wear characteristics. It has a tensile strength of 53.72 MPa, an elongation at break of 34%, a flexural modulus of 1805.58 MPa, a flexural strength of 70.29 MPa, a notched Izod impact strength of 4.6 kJ/m², a heat deflection temperature of 93°C, a specific gravity of 1.39 g/cm³, a melt flow index of 15 g/10min, and a flow shrinkage rate of 1.8~2.2%. These excellent properties make POM FW700N widely used in applications such as printer parts, gears, and worm gears.
