What is Kuraray EVAL™ EVOH E171B ?

EVOH E171B is a high-performance evoh plastic (ethylene-ethyl 烇 alcohol copolymer) pellets produced by Kuraray Corporation of Japan. It has excellent gas barrier properties, mechanical strength and thermal stability. This material is widely used in the fields of food, medicine and industrial packaging where strict barrier requirements for oxygen and moisture are imposed.

High Barrier Layer Core Material

As a typical ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer, EVOH E171B can greatly inhibit the penetration of oxygen and other harmful gases, effectively extending the storage period of the contents.

Outstanding Rigidity and Impact Resistance

A modulus of 2300 MPa in tension and 4800 MPa in flexure provide strong support and excellent deformation resistance. Combined with a notched impact strength of 2 kJ/m², this ensures the structural safety of the packaging during transportation and use.

Good thermal compatibility

EVAL™ EVOH E171B has a melt index of 1.7 cm³/10 min at 190°C, making it suitable for co-extrusion with PE/PP materials to form multilayer films, as well as for common processes such as injection molding and blow molding.

Food contact grade safe material

With a density of 1.14g /cm³, it has been certified by food contact regulations (such as FDA) and is suitable for fields with strict hygiene requirements, such as food and medicine, ensuring safety without any worries.

Food packaging film and bottle body: As an inner or intermediate barrier layer, it can effectively block oxygen and significantly extend the shelf life of products such as beverages, sauces, and cooked foods.

Pharmaceutical products packaging: injection bags, pharmaceutical tablet packaging structure, isolation of oxygen, moisture and deterioration.

Industrial barrier structures: moisture-proof bags for electronic devices, fuel hose barriers, solvent-based liquid packaging to enhance chemical stability and safety.
