What is Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol EVOH E151?

EVOH E151 is an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer based on ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer. It has excellent gas barrier properties, mechanical strength, and thermal stability. It is widely used in food, medicine, and industrial packaging and other areas with strict requirements for oxygen and moisture barriers.

Excellent gas barrier

With an oxygen transmittance of only 0.2 (ASTM D3985), EVOH E151 has ultra-low oxygen transmittance, which can effectively prevent the penetration of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases, and extend the shelf life of food and drugs. The water vapor transmission rate is 22 g/(m²·day), and the combination with waterproof materials in the multi-layer structure can achieve excellent composite barrier effects.

Good mechanical strength and wear resistance

The ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer has high strength, high rigidity, and good surface hardness, which can withstand a certain external impact in the packaging structure, and has wear resistance to ensure the long-term reliability of the packaging.

Stable processing adaptability

The melt index is 1.6 g/10 min (ASTM D1238), the melting point is 165°C, suitable for a variety of hot processing processes such as co-extrusion, blow molding, injection molding, etc. It can be co-extruded with a variety of resins such as PE, PP, etc., to build a multi-layer high-barrier structure.

Safety, environmental protection, and physical stability

The EVOH plastic density is moderate, the thermal expansion rate is low, the size is stable during processing and forming, and it is not easy to deform. It also meets food contact-grade standards and is suitable for the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Used for multi-layer composite film, vacuum bag, thermoforming tray, condiment bottle body, etc., to block oxygen and extend food freshness.

Drug packaging:

Suitable for blister packaging, infusion bag, and other high-barrier drug packaging, to improve the stability of drug storage.

Industrial and electronic packaging:

Used in the inner layer of fuel pipelines, chemical packaging, moisture-proof packaging of electronic components, etc., to improve corrosion resistance and gas shielding effects.
