What is Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol EVOH ?
EVOH E105A is a kind of ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) plastic particle with excellent oxygen resistance performance, which is widely used in food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, and industrial film and other scenarios with high barrier requirements.
Due to its high strength, good thermal stability, and excellent processing performance, this material has become an irreplaceable barrier material in multi-layer co-extrusion structures.
Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol EVOH Advantages
As a high-performance ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, EVOH E105A has the following properties:
Excellent mechanical properties:
Tensile strength is 29 MPa, tensile modulus is 2300 MPa, and bending modulus is up to 4800 MPa, ensuring sufficient strength and rigidity in packaging and structural applications;
Rockwell hardness reaches 80 on the M scale, indicating that it has good wear resistance and structural stability during the use of finished products;
Notched impact strength is 2 kJ/m², with basic impact resistance, suitable for the use of laminated structure internal protective layer.
Stable thermal performance:
Melting temperature is 165°C, glass transition temperature is 53°C, suitable for a variety of hot processing methods such as extrusion, blow molding, injection molding;
The melt index (MI) is 5.7 g/10min at 190°C and 13 g/10min at 210°C, respectively, showing good processing fluidity and ease of co-extrusion with other polymers such as PE and PP.
Moderate density:
With a specific gravity of 1.14 g/cm³, it has good physical stability and lightweight characteristics within a multi-layer material structure.
Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol EVOH Applications
With its excellent barrier properties and processing adaptability, ethylene-vinyl alcohol EVOH E105A plays an important role in the following areas:
Voedselverpakking: multi-layer composite packaging film, vacuum bag, thermoforming tray, bottle body barrier layer, effectively block oxygen, extend shelf life;
Pharmaceutical packaging: infusion bags, pharmaceutical blister packaging and other products that are extremely sensitive to gas and water vapor;
Industriële toepassingen: chemical packaging, fuel tube layer, functional film, electronic component packaging and other applications with special requirements for gas barrier performance.
